TableOpener Launched for PokerStars

Perhaps one of the toughest things to do while trying to play 10+ cash game tables at a time is getting registered.  Just about the time you get five or so open, another one pops up requiring action.  This is not only frustrating, but it also puts you at risk for a misclick.  The difficulty of registering for a mass multi-table session is greater for players who play the maximum number of tables allowed by PokerStars, 24.  The site has some very nice filters in its cash game lobby that make the registration process much easier than it used to be, but it is still very difficult.  If we only had a tool that could leverage the PokerStars lobby filters along with one that would automatically register for us.  Thanks to a new AutoHotKey (AHK) script, we can let the program do the legwork for us.

TableOpener for PokerStars is a free, open-source AHK program that allows you to define the number of tables you wish to have open at once and automates the registration process.  There are three customizable variables you can define with the script.  You will specify the number of tables to keep open (18 is the default value), the text size of the lobby (medium is the default value), and how often the script rechecks the number of tables currently open (10 seconds is the default value).

To change these settings, simply right-click the TableOpener icon, chose “Edit Script,” and make the changes needed.  TableOpener leverages the filters in the PokerStars lobby, so it will start with the top table in your lobby list and work itself down from there.  If you close a table, the next table in the list will be opened and registered for.

There are also two bonus features included with TableOpener.  You can choose to enable a feature that will allow you to use your bottom thumb mouse button to cycle through tables in your stack when the cursor is pointing to them.  Also, the top thumb mouse button will close the table the mouse is pointing to and automatically click the OK warning button for you.

TableOpener recently released a new update, Version 1.05, which includes a graphic user interface (GUI) that allows you to select the number of tables you want to have open and enable and disable the script. The previous version required you to edit and pause the script manually, so the GUI is a nice feature to have.     

Let’s take a look at how to get started with TableOpener for PokerStars:

1) Get a copy of TableOpener
2) Copy and paste the script into a new .ahk file
3) Right-click the file and edit the settings you need to
4) Save and close the script
5) Double click the TableOpener icon you created, define your table count, and enable the script

The program has only been tested with the black PokerStars lobby theme and it doesn’t work if the lobby is minimized.  The lobby doesn’t need to be viewable; it just can’t be minimized.  Other than that, using the script is very simple and useful.  Give it a shot and see just how easy cash game registration can be.
